The SHOC Footy Club is pleased to announce the final appointments to the coaching panel for 2019. As previously announced, Steve Kay is this year stepping up from the B Grade coaching role to take over as the Senior Coach, whilst Heath Treacy is continuing in the very important developmental role as coach of the C Grade.
B Grade Coach
I would like to congratulate Ben Wright on his appointment as B Grade coach for the 2019 season. Ben is a 200 game player for the club, so we look forward to him sharing his experience with his young playing group and it’s great to have him back around the club. Ben will be supported by club great Josh Bourne who has recently moved back to Adelaide from a stint in Pt Lincoln.
Under 18s Coach
We have also appointed a new Under 18s coach in Austin Kiddy. Austin has come through our Under 18 program and has been a part of the very successful B Grade team for the last two seasons. Unfortunately, Austin suffered a season ending shoulder injury late last season that has ruled him out of playing this year. Austin will be assisted by his good mate Patrick Pivato. Club legend Damian Kitschke has put his hand up to support Austin in his new coaching position.
We wish both men all the best in their new positions.
Director of Coaching
I, Adam “Spud” Marling have stepped into the big shoes of Andrew Underwood as, Director Of Coaching. Andrew has done an exceptional job over the past four years in this role and I very much look forward to picking up where he left off.
These new signings now complete our coaching panel for the coming season and again, we wish all coaches the very best in leading the club forward.
