Recruiting Coups
Our Trial Games start Friday the 11th March and the season proper gets underway on the 16th April v Gaza.
Our Senior Coach, Adam “Spud” Marling has been working tirelessly throughout the off season resulting in the recruitment of many new faces to the club. One of these players is Lachlan Button who will also take up a role with the club in junior development assisting Andrew Underwood and Henry Spurling with the Under 18’s along with mentoring the young guys in the senior grades.
Coaching Staff Bolstered
Andrew Underwood has also taken on a new role as Director of Coaching to support the whole coaching group and Damian Kitschke will have a more hands on role this year as an Assistant Coach. It’s fantastic to also have Steve Kay back at the club assuming the role as our B Grade and thanks again to Heath Treacy for his continued efforts as C Grade coach.
Outstanding Preseason
The feedback from our Pre Season Training campaign has been outstanding which has been under the guidance of Matt Penhall, ex-SHC scholar and Star Force Sargent who has been supported by Matt Bode. It is fair to say the guys are fitter than they have ever been !!
Your financial support over the years has been appreciated and is truly valued and it’s that time of year again when we ask for you to continue your association with our great club.
We Need Your Support
Our operating expenses continue to rise and this year is no different. Historically, the contribution from sponsors represents over 50% of our costs being around $40,000 of the total of $80,000 of costs required to run the club. In season 2015 this rose to 65% and this is the main reason the club recorded a profit of $25,000. These funds will be used to invest in pre-season, junior development, player equipment and other club assets that we were not in a position to purchase previously. We sincerely thank you and ask for your generosity once again to ensure we remain one of the most successful truly amateur clubs.

In order to keep you up to date throughout the season we will continue to email the weekly newsletter each Friday throughout the season. The website will also be updated weekly to include teams and other SHOC FC news and announcements. Pat Hollis continues to support the club with developing and maintaining the website and attending to distribution of the newsletter which is greatly appreciated by all.
Presentations will be held at the Broadway Motel Hotel at 6.30 pm sharp after every game and we would like to see you there. Everyone is most welcome to attend.
