SHOCFC Announces New Senior Coach for 2019

I would like to congratulate Steve Kay (SOD) on his appointment to the A grade coaching position for the 2019 season and beyond. Steve has done a wonderful job in developing the SHOC talent via our B grade for the past 3 years. His results speak for themselves.

The ‘Kay’ name has long been associated with the SHOCFC with Steve’s dad Dave Kay and his brother Marty having been involved over a long period. Steve is also a long time SHOC man himself having played 169 games across all grades during the 90’s and 2000’s. His passion and work ethic for the SHOCFC is enormous, he is great communicator and teacher of young men. We wish him well on his appointment.

I also need to thank Andrew Underwood for his contribution to the SHOCFC, not only as the A grade coach for the past 2 years, but also as the under 18s coach for the 3 years prior to that. ‘Undies’ has been a tireless contributor over this period and no job has ever been too hard. His willingness to assist anyone in any capacity is a testament to his selflessness. Big thanks also to his assistants in David Underwood and Dion Moroney.

Thanks for your support…

As the year comes to a close we also need to acknowledge some of our biggest supporters. To Steve Byrne and Sacred Heart College, thanks for your assistance and working with us over the year to enable the SHOCFC access to the Main Oval and Function centre for 5 games this year, it was much appreciated. Thanks to Paul Morgan, Rob Gill and Peter McCabe for their assistance in making this happen. Also to Adam Rice and the ground staff at the Middle School for the work they have done there and in accommodating us during the redevelopment.

John Morrissy and the SHOC Sports Association have supported us and all the SHOC teams when required.

Our generous sponsors…

The Bay Motel Hotel has been our major sponsor for past 20 years. Thanks to Greg and his team for all their financial support and also providing us with our own venue every week for ourselves and the SHOC Netball Club to hold our after match presentations.

To our Platinum Sponsors – We thank you for your financial support.

Our hard working committee, coaches and volunteers…

Massive thanks to the committee, coaches and volunteers for the great job they do.  To Noddy the heart and soul of the SHOCFC for all his work in fundraising, mechanising, paying accounts, umpires, trainers… the list goes on. We will get that statue next to Marcellin Champagnat erected one day Nod! Also to Nick Tait for dealing with the Adelaide Footy League, Paul Fahey for weaving his magic on regularly securing sports grants, and Bill Spurling and Dion Moroney for managing the clubs finances and Pat Hollis for all his work in creating and sending out the weekly newsletter to keep you all informed . To the BBQ committee Wes and Sharon Delmenico, Jeff and Jackie Clarke and all parents that helped out during the year, superb job week in, week out.  Thank You!

A new president…

Lastly after 5 years it’s time to move on and let someone else have all the fun! So to Nick Tait, thanks for taking the reins, I know the club will be in good hands. Look forward to watching this great club go onto bigger and better achievements.
