B Grade 2014 Mid-Season Review

Sweaty

Well we enter a new year with a new group of men looking to make amends for a heart breaking end to the 2013 season. We as a group have started the season well with a 9 win 2 loss ledger at the turning point of the season.

With an average age of 20.5 years there is plenty of upside and the guys are looking forward to the remainder of the season, and all things going well, will figure again at the business end of the season.

SHOC B grade are currently 2 games clear in second on the ladder which is very pleasing seeing there was only 6 guys who fronted up round 1 from the 2013 grand final team. statistically we the best performing back six in the league and with plenty of opportunity for guys to play at a higher level at the club. Prime example of this is from the A grade side that took on SMOSH last week 13 of the 21 had played B grade at some stage this year.

Thus far we have seen consistent effort from a number of players with the stand out performers being Winny, Simon Hayes, Sam Hollis, Melon and Jed Villis – to name a few.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who help out on a weekly basis, from umpires, coaches, runners and most importantly a big thankyou to Luke Mason and his team who keep the guys fit an firing.

I welcome all supporters to come along to the early game to take a look at the future of this great club as we work towards playing some finals footy and in support roles to getting the club back to the powerhouse we have been in years past.

Thanks very much.
