Div C1’s marching towards finals…

Starting the season with only 3 teams  was always going to be a gamble. Too many players 1 year not enough the next.  And so it goes.  But in saying that I think the club made the right decision & playing triple headers (whilst kicking the dew off the grass) has been great for the club.

So after using 50 players in 9 games we see ourselves at the halfway point in 6th position on percentage. Equal 4th, but only 1 game off top spot.  In a very tough high standard comp.

It’s been great to see the quality of some young guys come thru with Dan Moroney, Marcus Walkington, & Edward Doak all having standout games in the Cs that forced their selection in to the B grade. Its great to see the sharp improvement in guys that start in the U18s.

Charlie Spurling has been carrying the ruck for us & doing a stellar job, whilst the ever reliable Joe Taylor is at his feet doing the hard stuff. We have also been led well by our co Skippers Ravi Prakash & Ed Whiting.

I’d just like to make a point of saying I’m extremely proud of the guys that have been involved so far. It’s hard to fit 40 odd blokes into 21 each week and a lot of guys have only played 3-4 games each. But they have all turned up on game day to help & support and it goes to show what a great bunch of lads they are.

The second half of the season awaits, lets hope we come home strong!

Go SHOCFC!
